National Poetry Month day 18
How to write a poem
1.Fall in love with someone who doesn’t love you
2.Study strangers smiles, how forced they are, or genuine
3. Lay in the grass outside in the evening just as it’s starting to get dark and close your eyes
4. Listen to a piano or violin solo, alone in your room, and think about that one person you haven’t thought about in years
5. Take a hot bath and wait until the water gets cold, then turn all of the lights out, and sit in the tub as the water drains
6. Stand in front of a mirror and try to decide the exact shape and color of your own eyes, then try to figure why you feel so unreal to yourself
7. Sit in a airport and watch more love stories and families show affection and loss, than anywhere else in the world
8. Go to a park by yourself, and try to swing as high as you can without falling
9. Confess your love for someone on paper and carry it around in your pocket for a month before you throw it away
10. Try to comprehend how you fell out of love with the one person you said you never would stop loving
