If You Left Me

 it's not that i can't live without you

because i can

i can go through everyday not thinking of what it would be like

if you were here with me in this place

i can go through all 24 hours without hearing your voice in every person 

i converse with

i can manage a week without someone to spill my heart out to and confide in

and i could write every poem

without thinking about you

without hiding you in between every line 

but what i can't do

is erase the plans i made in my head

to meet and have you fall in love 

with the person i wanted you to see

the perfect version of me

who I was going to be for you.
