A Starry Night

 i don't think there will ever be a night

when i'm outside

that i'm not tipping over backwards

staring up at the sky

and trying to point out the brightest star that i can find

i was never one for science

and i've never looked through a telescope

but there's something about a starry night

that makes me think of poetry

a van gogh painting 

and you

my admiration is the same for all of those three things

the fundamental truths

of what i'm destined to love.
