Like The Dogwoods In The Spring

i love you like the dogwoods love the spring

the first leaf appearing on the pruned rose bush in march 

like the magnolia finally opening up in april 

and like the tiger lilies lining the riverbed in may 

you love me 

like you're my spring

after the dead of winter.
