My Skin Is Burning

My tears burn my cheeks

everytime I cry

and my skin has been burning

almost every night

I don't know why I'm this sad

in August when it's still warm

the depression is only supposed to come

in the fall when its starting to get cold

it's far too early for this to return

but now I have nothing to look forward to

and all of the rest of my friends are gone

I only have one or two people left

don't tell my boyfriend that I'm sad again

I dont think he'd know what to do

so I wait until I'm alone every night

to let the fires in my mind

fall out of my eyes

onto my pillow, but never on you.
