Eyes In The Dark

          2am is for the movie lovers,

          the ones who have too much of an imagination,

          reliving old scenes in their heads.

          3am is for bathroom floors,

          and burning thoughts, red cheeks,

          and the Lord's prayer.

          4am is for the music lovers,

          and the readers, the poets,

          the writers trying to see in the dark.

          5am is for morning runs,

          water on an empty stomach,

          body checking, nothing to wear in my closet.

          It's the middle of the night, or an early morning.

          It's the difference between me,

          and the ones with no dark circles,

          under their eyes.
